Saturday's WNBA game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever saw one of the more controversial moments of the season, as Fever star Caitlin Clark was on the receiving end of a hard off-ball foul from Sky guard Chennedy Carter.
The incident occurred in the third quarter, with Carter drilling a jumper before immediately shoulder checking Clark. The hit sent Clark to the ground, and she was visibly shaken.
After the game, Clark expressed her frustration with the foul. "It was a dirty play," she said. "I was just trying to play the game, and she came out of nowhere and hit me."
Carter refused to answer questions about the incident after the game. The Sky, however, released a statement saying that they are reviewing the play and will take appropriate action if necessary.
The WNBA has a strict policy against unsportsmanlike conduct, and Carter could face a suspension if the league determines that her hit was intentional.
